The Schengen Visa is a unified short-stay visa that allows Pakistani citizens to travel freely across 29 European countries in the Schengen Area for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. The Schengen Area includes France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Greece, Portugal, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Croatia, and others.
You apply through the embassy or VFS centre of one specific Schengen country — typically the country you'll spend the most days in, or your first entry point. The visa is then valid for travel across all Schengen states. Schengen Type C visa is for tourism, family visits, business, or short courses; Type D is for long stays (over 90 days, country-specific).

Note: Ireland and Cyprus are EU members but not in the Schengen Area — they require separate visas. UK is not in Schengen and has its own UK Standard Visitor Visa.

Standard processing time is 15 working days, extendable to 30-45 days during peak season or for additional document review. Apply at least 8 weeks before travel. You can apply up to 6 months before your travel date.
Most embassies expect proof you can cover €50-100 per day in the Schengen Area, plus return travel costs. For a 10-day trip, that's roughly €500-1,000 + flights. UVC recommends a maintained balance of PKR 8-15 lakh over 6 months as a comfortable baseline. Higher for premium destinations like Switzerland or Norway.
France, Spain, Greece, and Hungary are generally more lenient. Germany and Netherlands are stricter on documentation. The "easiest" depends on your specific profile — UVC matches each client to the best embassy based on their case strength.
EU-published Pakistan Schengen approval rates vary widely by country — France and Spain are more lenient (50-65%), while Austria and Germany are among the strictest (under 30%). Pakistan's overall Schengen rejection rate was around 52% in 2023 — one of the highest globally. No consultant can guarantee approval; anyone claiming a specific approval rate is misleading you. UVC matches each client to the most appropriate Schengen embassy based on their profile and declines weak files rather than charging fees on cases we believe will fail.
Yes. A Schengen visa from any one Schengen country allows you to enter all 29 Schengen states freely. There are no border checks between Schengen members.

Yes, but uncommon. First-time Pakistani applicants typically receive single-entry visas matching their trip dates. Multiple-entry visas (1-year, 3-year, 5-year) are usually issued after 2-3 successful single-entry trips and clean travel record. UVC advises building visa history before applying for long multi-entry.
You'll receive a refusal letter with reason codes (1-9). You can either appeal (within 15 days, country-specific process) or re-apply with stronger documentation. UVC reviews the refusal letter, addresses each reason, and re-applies — many of our successful clients had prior refusals.
